Hervey Bay - City Sights

Capture the magic of this sub tropical city in air-conditioned comfort. Our luxury coach will embark on journey of intrigue and spectacular views. Firstly visit Dayman Point and the Matthew Flinders Lookout from where panormaic views of the Great Sandy Straits and Fraser Island can be seen.

Following the Esplanade we pause at the historic Urangan Pier, once streching over 1.4 kilometres long and a busy port for the export of bulk sugar. Experience wide sandy beaches, sub-tropical beachside parklands, wide verandahed old Queenslander homes, nestled amongst new resort developments.

Tour through the suburbs of Torquay, Scarness and Pialba to Point Vernon affording panoramic views across Hervey Bay and an azure tropical sea. Enjoy a brief stop along the way to see a large Flying Fox (Bat) coloney at Tooan Tooan Creek and a Osprey Nest high above the rocky headlands at Point Vernon. Onwards to Craignish and the trendy northern suburb of Dundowran Beach, for a delicious afternoon Devonshire Tea (included) at the tranquil Arkkara Lagoons Tea Gardens, wander through the sub-tropical rainforests and ecologically significant melaleuca wetlands with its breathtaking collection of lush native and exotic plants, abundant birdlife, turtles and a host of other unique Australian flora and fauna.

Relax as our journey continues passing large pineapple plantations and fields of sugar cane, before returning to your accomodation. This tour is a great introduction to Hervey Bay and exemplifies the character of the Fraser Coast.
